I use to never take showers in the morning during high school because I only allowed myself less than a half an hour to get up, get dressed, brush my teeth, pack my bag and my lunch. There was no time for showering. Plus, I took around 30 minute showers, which I know is awful but now I've got it down to 15 minutes. Nowthat I'm in college and I don't have to wake up really until 8am or later for classes, I'm in no rush, so I take showers in the morning. It's awful really because I feel like I can't get dirty or whatever during the day. You think taking a shower in the morning would help wake you up, right? Ha, not me. The warm water on my muscles makes me want to never leave. I could probably fall right back to sleep, right there, in the shower. Also, another problem is I'm so disoriented after waking up. I get in the shower and do the usual routine: wash hair, shave legs (but not in November because it's "No Shave November"), wash body, stand there for a couple minutes doing nothing and then get out. However, sometimes I wash my hair, space out for a couple minutes and then wash my hair again because I thought I didn't before. I suffer from morning-shower-short-term-memory-loss. It's tragic. But it's not only in the shower... sometimes while I'm driving and come up to a stop light and go through it I think, "Oh shit! Was that light green?" Well of course it is because Bridget Williams doesn't break the law. But gosh, it happens way too often. I swear! I'm living in the now, people. Don't worry! YOLO.
Another weird shower thing... I saw my brother do this and I thought it was the most bizarre thing ever. He was brushing his teeth in the shower! But, I mean, when I think about it, it's not that weird really. You're just washing another body part in the shower, which most people usually do in the sink, clothed. Today I brushed my teeth in the shower and it was really nice and convenient. My teeth feel like they got an even better clean. I totes recommend everyone try it. It might even remind those who don't brush their teeth everyday to brush... you nasties.
For the past month it seems now, it has rained, snowed, hailed, pretty much any type of precipitation you can think of. I look out the window and there's always something falling from the sky. But hey! that's Syracuse for you. The last couple days, it has miraculously been just overcast! I know, wow! But every time I look out the window, I swear it's raining, but it's not. I'm hallucinating (on top of short term memory loss; not good.) I don't mind the weather at all though. I love overcast, cold, rainy weather all the time. "All" is the key word there. Yea, I mean, everyone loves their "stay inside while it's cold and rainy" kind of days, but only a couple. But me. I like them all the time. I want to move to Alaska or Washington because then people would understand me and my love for dreary weather.
I've decided that we should move the voting age to 21. Why, you ask? Because the majority of people around the ages of 18 to 21 don't have a house or family or a "real" job. Many are college students still dependent off their parents. How can we vote on issues concerning the economy etc. when we have no knowledge/ experience with these issues? We can only realistically vote on certain social issues based on our ideologies that we have formed because of religion or whatever. I don't know many kids my age who have researched all the major issues and formed an opinion let alone understood what they are. I know I formed my political opinion based on my parents and how they brought me up and so do most kids. I will admit that I am not well informed about many of the major political issues and it's hard to be when many of them don't directly effect me yet. 18 to 21 year olds, we're all ignorant.
Here's a statistic: Florida's seniors are one fourth percentage of the population. That is the largest percentage of seniors in any state. Also, sixty percent voted republican. Does that say something? Aren't the "old" also the "wise?" Just a thought.
